I know it may be upsetting for many of you to discover the animal you cherish is of the opposite political party. Would former President Bill Clinton ever be able to admit to himself that the late Socks was a Republican? Could Democrats ever bring themselves to forgive Checkers, the dog – and a Democrat – who belonged to Richard M. Nixon and whose mention in the famous 1952 “Checkers speech” helped save Nixon’s political career?

I guess that’s why I have two cats and no dogs.
I have the opposite view.
Cats provide nothing in return for the love and attention provided by the owner.
Dogs are eternally grateful for the least little attention.
They retrieve, protect, and play.
Obviously they haven’t met my dogs.

I always thought of demorists as snakes but after 9/11/2001 I’ve started to think of them as jihadists.

Disagree. Notice how he gets in a few digs like suggesting that Republicans want to pollute the environment.
In reality, the two animals most closely comparable to the political parties are:
the draft horse pulling the plow which is a Republican and
a swarm of locusts which is Democrat.
Hmmph, not only is my dog Italian, she’s a conservative as well.
It’s OK for dogs to throw caution to the wind, live irresponsibly, snap at anything trying to get into your food bowl, multiply like rabbits and screw every b!tch in sight. But people shouldn’t live that way . . . . :)
All of my cats are Republicans, but they’re not very happy with the current crop of Republican leadership.

I have 4 dogs, 3 cats, 17 alpacas, 9 peacocks and 13 hens. They all have jobs to do and they do them. In return they are fed. I would say they are all republicans.
Recently a freeper made the comment that cats use to be thought of as god’s and never forgot it...:O)
