Pierce Brosnan Calls For End To Icelands Whale Hunt
By Jennifer Mishler @ 10:37 am August 9, 2011
Pierce Brosnan seems to be getting into his latest role, animal and environmental advocate. He is calling for an end to Icelands whale hunt. The actor has teamed up with the National Resources Defense Council and is leading their campaign to stop Icelandic whaling. In a recent post on OnEarth, Brosnan said Last December, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and other groups filed a petition to stop Icelands rogue whaling. In response, the U.S. Commerce Secretary recently declared that Iceland is defying the international ban on commercial whaling. That declaration started the clock ticking on a 60-day period during which President Obama must decide whether or not to impose trade sanctions on Iceland. Brosnan wants the president to impose sanctions until Iceland stops defying the ban on commercial whaling, established by the International Whaling Commission in 1986. He also stated President Obama should begin by targeting imports from those Icelandic seafood companies directly tied to the whaling industry. He has asked that the public speak up in order to get the president to take action to stop Icelands hunt of endangered fin and minke whales, and provided a link to the NRDCs letter to President Obama that you can fill out and send online. Along with this current campaign, Brosnan also worked with the NRDC last year in opposition to a proposal at the IWC to re-legalize commercial whaling. He is also on the Board of Advisors for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Pretty good little scam, sucking millions out of braindead liberal cultists to worship whales.
Pray for America
Nice shot! They failed so badly they have to make the finale a compulation of years past.
Well cheers to the end of a very boring season. This may be the most lack luster season we've had yet. I think last year was the best since we atleast got to see a ship sunk.
Sea Shepherd’s record of violence...

A little side note. Captain Cocopuffs got his start of sinking whaling ships in Iceland!!! I think he was so audacious he turned himself in, obviously he didn't go on a hunger strike.
Damn. I was looking forward to seeing the episode where the Steve Irwin gets impounded in the Shetland Islands.
Don’t lose hope. They’re filming a spin off about whaling on some island in the North Atlantic right now. The Shetland incident might be part of it.
YEAH BABY I want that spin off LOL! we may get that I want see Scottish cops go upside the head of captain of Steve Irwin

Too bad the rioters in the UK didn’t rob the Steve Irwin. Oh well I guess we’ll still get some entertainment.
Wouldn’t you think the flares would light the netting on fire?
I was hoping that rioters rob that boat LOL!
Something about harvesting whales doesn’t seem quite right.
Chilean Navy? What is that a tug boat?
Vincent Burke, the 2nd Mate seems to all of a sudden got more camera time, besides the obligatory wheel house shots. Actually got a interview.
