Ignorant? Yes, creationists are among the most ignorant group around. The less educated someone is the more likely they are to be a creationist.

Geology reject a young Earth and the idea that major features that took millions of years to form were all formed during a forty day global flood within the last few thousand years. Creationists reject geology.

Physics rejects a young Earth and the idea that radioactive decay wildly fluctuates without giving off heat such that the Earth could possibly be only a few thousand years old. Creationists reject physics.

Astronomy rejects the idea that light is highly variable in speed and that all light from objects one hundred million light years away actually are from objects that only existed within the last few thousand years and the light traveled that distance in that short amount of time. Creationists reject astronomy.

The movement of the plates of the Earth explain how South America and Africa were once contiguous - they reject that such a change in the position of the continents could happen in the last couple thousand years - it took many millions of years. Creationists reject plate tech-tonics.

Etc, etc, etc.

Cry about it all you want - creationists are not at war with just one scientist and one theory - they are at war with science as a way of gaining reliable information about the universe.

Being a creationist means never having to let something silly like EVIDENCE change your opinion. They are at war with the very idea of allowing evidence to influence ones opinion on the age of the Earth, or any other matter of physical reality which contradicts them - i.e. the vast majority of physical reality.

Re: geology, physics, astronomy, etc.
perhaps you missed this one...

JOHN SANFORD

Ph.D. in plant breeding and genetics, University of Wisconsin, professor at Cornell University

“Genesis 1-11 was a great challenge to my faith. Creation, the Fall, and the Flood seemed impossible—and it stood in direct defiance of my old religion, evolution. ... To accept this would result in a total overthrow of my entire mental framework. It would mean that the whole story of evolution, which had come to permeate every field of knowledge, was a lie—a monumental deception. ...

“Ironically, after becoming a creationist (by faith, not by knowledge), my mind has been renewed. An overthrow of my old mind was exactly what was needed to make room for a new mind and a new understanding. I have not had to turn off my mind—indeed, the challenge of understanding and defending Genesis has been the most exciting and stimulating phase of my entire scientific career. ... Now that I have become a creationist, I have experienced a renaissance of my interest in all the sciences, including cosmology, astronomy, geophysics, geology, biology, genetics, paleontology, linguistics, and more. ...

You’re mis-understanding imho is w/ uniformitarianism - true creation science does not violate any true scientific disciplines [excl ‘evolution’ of course].

Or if you’d like a complete rebuttal of plate tectonics see Walt Brown’s online book - Part II refutes it w/ his hydroplate theory [creationscience.com].

May The LORD take off your blinder as He did mine. Someone who has lived in the dark all of their life finds it hard to believe that light exists. When light shines it shines on all subjects. The theory of evolution is as a house of cards, many cards built up upon each other a strong building do not make.

The less educated someone is the more likely they are to be a creationist.

I don't suppose that an education system that strictly teaches evolutionism has anything to do with that.

Geology reject a young Earth and the idea that major features that took millions of years to form...

You're confusing "geology" with "geologists". Evolutionist geologists reject a young earth, while creationist geologists reject a 4.5 billion year old earth.

Physics rejects a young Earth

Again, you're confusing "physics" with "physicists". Also, thermodynamics (entropy) is at odds with belief in an old earth. Should I say that evolutionists reject physics too?

Etc., etc., etc.

I'm not crying. Perhaps I was wrong. Perhaps you're simply confused.

It was the weak and sparce EVIDENCE that convinced me that the ToE was largely based on faith and conjecture. I didn't even know that there was any alternative since I was raised and educated through 16 years of the state education system. I was extremely disappointed in the meager evidence that supported the ToE, but thought that it was the only explaination. It wasn't until my late thirties that I even heard of creation science. That is when I was finally able to begin to leave behind the same kind if ingnorance that you so desperately cling to.
