Report: Eagles interested in Brett Favre
NBC Sports ^ | July 23, 2011 | Mike Florio

Ugh.

Let me repeat that.

Ugh.

Howard Eskin of WIP radio in Philly reports that the Eagles could sign quarterback Brett Favre as a backup to Mike Vick, after Kevin Kolb is shipped out of town.

Sources told Eskin, who serves as a sideline reporter for the team’s radio broadcasts, that it’s “possible” the Eagles will sign Favre.

The move would reunite Favre with Andy Reid, who was an assistant with the Packers before becoming a head coach in 1999.

Yes, football season is here (deal struck by NFL and players today), so Brett Favre has to find another way to inject his name into the news cycle.

What a frickin joke he has become.

Report also says he contacted the Seahawks about being their starter and was turned away.

No. No it can’t be true. This is the second worst sports news I have ever read on FR. The worst being when it was reported Harry Kalas died. I said it wasn’t true that day, too, but as it turned out it was.

I love the Eagles.

I hate Brett Farve.

I was looking forward to a season of Farve not making an embarrassment of himself.....he is the prime example of how not to retire, play, retire....etc.

LOL!

We got a hell of a Q’back now. Maybe not as durable, but the guy has a lazer for an arm. That one touchdown he threw in the Superbowl was amazing. One inch one way or the other and it would have been knocked down.

Cripe. Brett is/was good but he should stay retired. Andy Reid should retire, too.

As a Miami Dolphis fan, I will always be grateful to Brett Favre.

Dolphins go from 1-15 to AFC East champions

Dec. 28, 2008 at Giants Stadium: Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington after winning the AFC East Championship by beating Bret Favre and the New York Jets. On August 7, 2008, the Jets had dumped Pennington to the curve on the same day they acquired Bret Favre

I wish he would stop. Even as a Pats fan, I loved Brett Favre. He had always seemed like such a nice guy. But each year I lose more respect for him as he clings so desperately to a life he should really move on from. There a so many other ways he could stay in football, but he just refuses to admit his playing career should be over. Plus, the more he does this, the more dirt people will try to dig up him so they can watch him fall, which will only harm his family.

I was never a Favre fan. He has raw talent, but is not very smart, IMO. Sure, he has some great games; but he also has some of the worst games of all time. He's always had a tendency to scramble too much and try to pull a play out of his a$$. Sometimes they work; sometimes they translate into 6 interceptions in a game. Tony Romo reminds me of Farve. Raw talent; not very smart.

I wish Favre would just stay in Kiln. They make good beer there and he's better off being a representative for AARP and the league then he would be playing again. At his age at QB it is just a few games from someone tearing his body into pieces.
