Purple Heart Award Medal on Craig List

Posted on 07/23/2011 12:40:37 PM PDT by Pit1

Received this email from a friend and my comments follow. My feelings are this is not right and I understand the seller has a real attitude.

Let the jerk selling the Purple Heart (see link below) know what ahole he is.

My comment

Maybe John (I've been in Vietnam) Kerry would like another medal. Profiting on a sacred honor is a crime. Like selling your son. The recipients family should have returned it to the DOD if they didn't want it.

Where’s the citation that goes with it?
I believe Purple Hearts can be bought at the PX. It’s not like a Medal of Honor.

I know it’s legal, but it’s just wrong.

"I am selling a modern militaria Purple Heart award emblem with box and badges."

Badges? We don't need no steenkin badges.

A couple of weeks ago there was a story of this kid who dressed up in this military costume and tried to pass himself off as a veteran. He had medals from WWII and Vietnam I think. The photos of the guy getting arrested by the base personal were funny. I suppose this kid could buy the medal to attach to his costume.

And next time you pick up some stamps for snail mail, gets these. Like the sacrifice they honor, they're forever.

What is the point of the crossed out “forever” on that stamp?
