They named the boat the SS Minnow to spite FCC Chairman Newton Minnow who called TV “a vast wasteland”.

How sad.

He created the most beloved and memorable comedy series’ in TV history — and the humor was timeless and is as funny today as 40-50 years ago.

It was a sad and dark day when the “suits” decided almost overnight to remove his family-style shows.

RIP — you were a pioneer to be remembered forever in media history.

IIRC, Tina Louise wanted to be the star and he told her “there’s a reason it’s called ‘Gilligan’s Island’ and not ‘Ginger’s Island’.”

RIP, Sherwood.

And she, of course, did the smartest career move in TV history since Parnell Roberts left Bonanza by having nothing to do with GI after the series concluded. I mean, look at what a huge star she became, right?

I respected the show when I heard last year that it was modeled after the dangers of the seven deadly sins.....

.....every character was a personification of said sins.........

If he were working in today’s environment, he would be forced to include a “positive gay character” in every sitcom.
