Friends, it's Sunday night again. Warm up the tubes for another 4 hours of classic radio programs.

Info
No, Vision, there is only mesquite or stale mesquite.
That’s why I was (still am) offering to mail you some relatively fresh mesquite to use to smoke. Most of what is sold for barbeque purposes is chips or small chunks that is very old and dry and has almost none of the good mesquite “flavor/smell” left in it, even when soaked in water.
Ok, send it to me and I'll give you honest feedback. Figure out what it will cost for parcel post and I'll paypal you the shipping. How's that?
You got me thinking, and sure enough, there are 3 notable radio versions. D/Ling 2 of them now. Lux and The Screen Guild Theater
Vision, I don’t want you to pay us for a gift. We’re happy to share, and if you’ll just FReepmail me a shipping address, then we’ll get you some out this week. We also have some fresh pecan that we’ll put in, too.
If you want to include a phone number, Keith could talk to you this week about how he does the wood a little off to the side, so it smokes and does not burn it up, but you may already know all that.
PS: Yes! I do know the smell since I was a kid. It’s wonderful!
I’ll send you a sampler box of mesquite, pecan, and whatever else I can come up with. Maybe some hickory or persimmon.
Cool, thanks so much. Never had persimmon. I’ll email you my address.
Not sure what you mean by fresh. I’m under the impression you can’t cook with green wood.
When grilling over coals I try to put the wood off to the side as much as possible to get thin blue smoke.
I’m starting to retire to listen by the radio. Have a great week you two and thanks again.
Vision, the greener the wood, the better the smoking. Green wood smokes. Dry wood just burns up.
If you like, please include a phone number and a convenient time to call you, and we’ll chat about smoking and the best way to “do” the wood. :-)
Excellent. The radio adaptations of Casablanca are quite good.
