Police say a man stalked his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend, even going so far as to place black widow spider eggs in their mailbox.
65-year-old Michael R. Burcum faces stalking charges after Hernando deputies say he harassed her after the two broke up earlier this year.
Investigators say Burcum briefly dated 47-year-old Kimberly Sonnenschen for about three weeks in March, before they broke up and Sonnenschen went back to her long-term boyfriend, 52-year-old Stephen Boyce.
Since that time, Burcum has allegedly written harassing letters to Boyce and Sonnenschen, and also tried to get access to Boyce's social security number.
After receiving several letters in the mail from Burcum, one day Boyce went to his mailbox and found a clutch of black widow spider eggs inside it had hatched.
Boyce, who was not bitten by the spiders, says Burcum raises black widows as pets.
Burcum allegedly sent the couple more letters and e-mails, including posting several of them on trash cans in front of Boyce's work place.
When deputies contacted Burcum, he claimed Boyce and his ex-girlfriend were talking bad about him and discrediting his integrity, and that he would not stop harassing them until he got a letter of apology from them through e-mail.
Burcum was arrested and charged with one count of stalking.
Why did i not ever think of this?
Argh...
I’d say she should get a concealed carry permit, if she doesn’t have one.
Stalkers tend to prefer easy prey.
On the off chance that she’ll read this, this is a good start:

Dang, now I know what it was about that stupid dress that bothered me so much (besides it being just downright ugly).
"Do you know who we are?"
