I went to breakfast this morning at Eat 'N Park in PIttsburgh. When I pulled into the parking lot, the spaces next to the handicapped spots were open so I thought, "Sweet! I"m gonna get a rock star parking spot" but as I pulled in, I noticed a sign posted in this spot that said "Reserved for Those Driving Hybrid Vehicles". I was PISSED! Has anyone else noticed this? Is it a new trend? Am I that out of the loop?

I plan to call their corporate office tomorrow & complain. I, the paying customer, do not appreciate being treated like a second-class citizen because they don't care for my choice of car. Tough crap. It's a shame & rather surprising since this is a restaurant chain that prints "God Bless America" at the bottom of their receipts. I always patronized them for this reason; I think it takes guts to put that on your receipts in a progressive cesspool like Pittsburgh
Admin mod - If I posted this in the wrong spot, I apologize. Please move it to its proper spot. Thanks!

Park there anyway. Hybrid drivers might be a little unstable but they are perfectly capable of walking a few extra steps for a plate of grits.

Just park there anyway. Tell them it is a hybrid vehicle, because sometimes you have to push it down the street due to the high gas prices.

Park there in a SUV and explain that it IS a hybrid, between a car and a truck...

I second that motion......fuggem and the jackasses they rode in on.
Do the hybrid drivers get a carbon emission discount on the food as well?

One could argue that those spaces are for the mentally handicapped.
To: surroundedbyblue
This is nothing. The next signs will read: “Conservatives need not apply.” Then we’ll reach the final frontier, when signs read: “We don’t serve Christians here...except to the dogs.”

Guess it depends on what they eat......:)
To: surroundedbyblue
Yup, and I no longer patronize the places that have such signs.

I haven’t seen any hybrid car parking spaces, but I’ve seen and been mildly annoyed at pregnant woman parking spaces, parents of small children parking spaces, and old folks parking spaces.
