You’re right. I just never heard the expression “choked on an eagle putt before.” Maybe because I never had a ball that close to the pin on par five - and neither have most people. It’s kind of like a “missing the bulls eye by a foot from eight hundred yards” complaint.
You’re missing the point. Of course Tiger and everyone on the Tour for that matter make the rest of us look foolish on the golf course. But he did blow a number of short makeable putts at crunch time, that as others have mentioned the “old Tiger” wouldn’t have. And the author insults the at least 4 players including the winner who upped their game on the back 9 while Tiger faltered.
I see your point...I guess the difference is that I would expect an amateur to miss the bulls eye by a foot or more from 800 yards but not a USMC sniper...
For the sniper it's a choke, for the amateur it's a pretty good shot...
