Tampa Bay Rays slugger Manny Ramirez has notified Major League Baseball that he is retiring after being notified of an issue under MLB’s drug policy.
The commissioner’s office issued a statement Friday that said Ramirez decided to retire rather than go through MLB’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

I don't hate the guy, but come on: Undisciplined, big steroid abuser, and old (without the sometimes-saving grace of being a hard-at-staying-fit worker). Better late (retirement, that is) than even later.

I don't know how a Sox fan could like/appreciate M.R. after what he pulled the last days he was w/ Boston... he didn't give a damn... barely running out grounders.
After that no team should have bought his services... he should have retired then.
