A few months ago I picked up several books at a resale store- among them was one titled "Song of America"- the story of an Armenian immigrants journey to, and life in, America. A couple of days ago, being out of reading material, I picked it up...
While not a soldier himself during WWII (he fought in WWI as a teenager!), he was asked to help with foodservice for the military. He traveled widely in Europe after the war on this mission, and found another, more personal mission for his life while doing so.
A history buff note- I have read lots of books bout WWII, and am always finding new information- this one contains information that I had never found before!
Amazon has a few copies of this book- half.com doesn't, although one showed on Ebay just now. I'm going to browbeat my wife to read this book (she'll be crying during a good bit of it), then I'll be happy to send it on to any Freeper that would like to read it. I can't recommend this book enough- it is hugely inspirational, and will show anyone why they should love this country!
And now I’m off to bed- but the offer is good on the loan of the book!
Sounds very interesting. I’d like to be the first to reserve this (after your wife, of course). Let me know when it’s available. Thank you!
