LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Elizabeth Taylor, the violet-eyed film goddess whose sultry screen persona, stormy personal life and enduring fame and glamour made her one of the last of the classic movie stars and a template for the modern celebrity, died Wednesday at age 79.
She was surrounded by her four children when she died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks, said publicist Sally Morrison.

It is sad, rest in peace but she was married 8 times and was a lib. No way she was 79 either. Closer to 85.

The cameras used in filming Cat on a Hot Tin Roof must have had extensive cooling systems.
She had about the same number of marriages as Larry King.

BTW, there's at least one other star from the Golden Age still alive: Olivia DeHavilland (Gone With the Wind, of course) is approx. age 94 and living in France.
Well figure it out, She was 12 when she starred in “National Velvet”, I forget what year that was but if you google it I am sure you can get the year of that film and then count from there. I see no reason for them to lie about her age at this point.
How long until Elton John starts dusting off the sheet music for another dedication and album of Candle in the Wind...

Ok, I saved you the trouble. National Velvet was filmed in 1944, 67 years ago, add that to her age of 12(which she was at that time)and you come up with exactly 79. So much for your ignorant, uninformed remarks.
Like Pinetop Perkins, she will be missed.
