Last Dakotan nailed it. Your husband is buying into the left’s mythological “public,” a cardboard prop that somehow always seems to favor them no matter what. The reality is, the “public” consists of that broader swath of Wisconsin’s generally citizens living outside the mind-control zones of Madison/Milwaukee. Those people got involved because they had had enough of the brats ruining the future for their children and grandchildren. And they have not moved off their driving principle just because a few slanted polls and few noisy protesters are trying to create the impression they don’t exist. They do exist, they are as engaged as ever, and come any recall votes or regular elections, they will be out in force, much to the disappointment of the union cronies. No, you may confidently tell your husband to turn off the TV and do the math. Walker is positioned to win big on this with the “public” that counts, the ever more conservative electorate of Wisconsin.
It is all in the perception isn’t it? If the right thinks they’ve already lost so many just give up, that’s they way it was in the past. It can be pretty defeating when you see over and over again how the left is so adored by everybody(lamestream media’s version and skewed polls).
