They’re pretty good at manipulating men, too. At least mine are.

I believe most of this. Our cat gets lots of attention from me. And just because I call her “The Bean Child” (she likes refried beans...WTF???) doesn’t really mean she is our child...

You mean they had to do a study to figure this out?

Cats manipulate women? Hmpf. That's just silly.

I don’t know if you have time, but if so, you might enjoy this article. It contains insights on how our felines interact so well with us—and why they end up getting just about anything they want, when they want it.

I have her right where she wants me.

I don't think cats are picky as long as we serve them unfailingly.

This is my kitteh.
She is a rescue kitteh, and only has half a tail.
When I was recovering from surgery, she went into "nurse kitteh" mode!

our cats totally control us here. I sing and they let me know pretty quickly which songs and sounds they do and do not like. LOL.

I have four of these morons in my house. It is like living with hobos. They lay around all day, eat and then crap. A mouse got in the house last month and these idiots ran away from it. What a swell pet.

My two kittehs are equal opportunity smoochers. My hubby has a morning ritual with them before I get up that involves play and treats. They have his schedule down pat even if he decides to sleep a little later. They both sometimes sleep with us, equally sharing the bed, and, of course, more frequently in the winter than when it gets warmer. The ritual goes something like this: hubby stirs, cats go into their places. The big male, Beaux, follows him into the bathroom and usually empties his bladder in his litter box next to the toilet while hubby does his business. He proceeds to the sink to wash and Beaux pops up onto the counter to wait. He then gets picked up and carried on one arm up to the kitchen to get coffee then up the stairs where the female, Stella, is waiting. She follows them up the stairs and they assume their places for treats. Playtime sometimes follows, depending on their mood.
After treat time, they both eventually come back downstairs to snuggle with me until I get up for the day and I feed them. The rest of the day they alternate upstairs and downstairs between us and have their naps in different places. Beaux usually lays on the table in my arms while I try to read FreeRepublic or attempt to type one-handed. All and all, I would say they spend a bit more time with me than hubby, especially in the evening. They ARE my babies. :o)
