"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

Great line up you have there!
Many of my all time favorites, Johnny Dollar, Gunsmoke, and especially, Lux Radio Theater!
(My collection includes over 500 episodes of Lux!)

Wish I could stay and catch your entire program!

For my money, OTR is the best entertainment out there!

Hello, everyone!

I’m ready for this! After a week of insane civil war in America, I need a break.

Evening, Vision.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Hey WXRGina. I'll drink to that !

Actually, I'm kinda jazzed that the House of Reps Tea Party people are doing what they were sent to do, cutting various budget items that clearly were left wing sacred cows ... plus Walker in Wisconsin is holding firm to rein in the $3.6b state budget deficit, beginning with the unsustainable government worker pensions. A great week for the Republic, all in all.

Hello everybody

Speaking of Lux, XM is playing one with Judy Garland as an aspiring actress - cannot even call the name of it. But, she was just an amazing talent.

I see Ed is keeping to the chronological order for Gunsmoke. Episode 7 tonight.

Hopefully, the fund raising is finished.

Oh, me, too!

We see how the spoiled, parasitic brats react to the prospect of joining the rest of “Real America”!

Hi, NPR just finished a half hour on “racial purity.” I’d rather hang myself than listen to that. And it’s taxpayer funded.

FWIW, Dragnet’s “Ray Pinker in the crime lab” (portrayed in this episode by Olan Soulé), was an actual person in the LAPD crime lab at the time of these productions, along with
Lee Jones who is also occasionally mentioned in Dragnet broadcasts.
