Action film star Steven Seagal accompanied UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva to the Octagon at UFC 126 on Saturday night before Silva knocked Vitor Belfort out with a highlight reel front kick. Seagal was not just there for star power. According to Silva, he learned the kick from Seagal.
"Steven Seagal helped me perfect that kick. That was a kick we were working on before I stepped in," Silva said through a translator at the post-fight press conference. "This was a kick that I trained a lot."

I’m surprised Seagal can still lift his legs.

I call it BS. That's not Aikido, it's a more of a Muay Thai kick than anything else. But I'm totally surprised that Belfort didn't see it coming though

Wonder how’d he do against a .45.

I like him too, a lot of his anger must come from UFC. In most sports he’d be set for life given his victories, but in UFC, by the time he pays trainers and managers, I doubt it. Dana White is a pr*ck

Silva’s KO was impressive, but performance of the night has to go to Jon Jones, he will be the next UFC LHW Champion, and I’m a huge Shogun fan from his Pride FC days.

Segal is probably better with a .45 than anyone in UFC.

Seagal should have helped Anderson Cooper with his kick. :)

But I'm totally surprised that Belfort didn't see it coming though That's the only way a kick like that works. A kick like that is a huge commitment. If the opponent sees it, you're pretty much done for.

and that’s why we barely see any :) . Probably Belfort assumed that Silva isn’t that dumb to do that. So Silva definitely gambled against a man of Belfort’s caliber, but you can’t argue with results.
Now Silva’s opponents have one more thing to worry about, as if they didn’t have enough!

I just looked at Silva’s Wiki page. One of his major skills is Muay Thai.
Belfort probably trained against Muay Thai fighters (Star Wars, LOL?!), and if you look at the way that kick devlops, it starts out looking like a low Muay Thai kick with a lot of thigh and knee behind it before it turns Korean. That’s probably why he was able to sneak it in.

Looks more like a “dead leg” kick”,very little chambering. It comes from below the line of sight. The preferred target is the groin but what ever works. Seagal is a major BS artist. Google his interaction action with stuntman Gene Lebell.
His record with the women in his life is basically a low life a*****e who is in love with his own reflection IMO
