I'm in the Middle East and I'm not losing any sleep over all of these predictions.

I remember that, and I always read your posts with interest for that reason.

With the effort to take down Mubarak and maybe the king of Jordan simultaneously, what do things look like from where you sit? Does it complicate things at all, or just more noise?

Well, it's all rather disconcerting, to be sure.

There haven't been many reactions here...yet. Iraq has enough of its own problems and challenges as they try to get their new government set.

Muqtada al Sadr has returned, and as he is cleary an agent of Iran, that doesn't bode well.

There has been an uptick in violence over the past few months and we get spates of rocket and mortar attacks on our bases from time to time. It's nothing like the insane days of '04 through late '07, but we're keeping a close eye on things just the same.
