How do they have the right to go into people’s bank accounts and make a withdrawal? Deposits, yes. But withdrawals?

I do my taxes by hand. I throw away the pre-addressed stickers (with a bar code I can’t decipher), and hand letter the envelope.

Check the box for direct deposit? NO WAY!! I’ll take a good old fashioned check.

People think I’m paranoid...

How cool is that?

Isn’t access to your bank account part of the new health care plan?

Any entity that deposits into your account can take it back within a certain period. Even your employer who makes direct payroll deposits.

See post #6. Yes, from what I’ve read, an EFT deposit can indeed be reversed within some period of time.

Just did my federal income taxes. They no longer send you a refund check at all. You MUST have a bank account and accept an electronic transfer. They no longer send you forms and instructions, either. You are on your own to download them or hunt them up at the library or wherever. No wonder the post office is going broke.

Why stop there?

Drain them all dry!

All money rightfully belongs to the government anyway.
