To everyone who is calling for stricter gun laws in light of the tragedy in Tucson, may I offer this little tidbit: If guns kill people, then pencils misspell words, cars drive drunk, and spoons make people fat! Remember: Hold the person accountable for their actions, not the means they chose to utilize!!
Guns make criminals and lunatics more dangerous. Guns don’t make people criminals or lunatics.
Gun control is like trying to solve drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to own cars.
I can’t think of one law that would stop a lunatic from mass murder.
Obviously, all the laws on the books have not had much effect on our criminal class.
That should be a bumper sticker ... seriously!

Sorry, but your attempt to inject logic into this discussion does not compute with liberals.
Nope, we have tons of laws against illegal drug use. Never stopped anyone from getting illegal drugs if they want them. Same with guns. Take away our gun rights, then the only people that will have guns will be the government and criminals. THAT is never a good thing.
Well, you never know how you affect someone. They may say, that’s garbage or I don’t believe it but, deep down inside they know it’s the truth. And at some point down the road they may have an epiphany. If not, then it’s there problem.
Now, there you go again. Trying to reason with liberals... an impossible task that is NEVER successful.
Gun control isn’t about logic and sense, it is about gaining control over the American people by the State.
As the mother of a murdered child, I’m still waiting for the FENCE POST ban to be proposed!
What I want most is for killers to serve 100% of their sentences and NO DRATTED PLEA BARGAINING! NO PAROLE HEARINGS to fight and the DP to be used when given within a reasonable time frame.

Which is why I get so durn upset when they blame a object for doing something an evil person actually did. If you plan evil then you will use any means to carry it out.
Amen to that one. If he had no gun and was intent on killing as many people as he could. He could have just hoped into his car a mowed them down.
