Television host and actor Gary Collins has been arrested for leaving a restaurant in Biloxi, Mississippi without paying his bill, police said on Wednesday.
Collins, 72, a former host of the Miss America beauty pageant, was charged with defrauding an innkeeper, said Rodney McGilvary, assistant chief of the Biloxi Police Department. He said Collins walked out on a $59.35 restaurant tab on Tuesday.
Restaurant employees followed him out of the restaurant into the parking lot, but he refused to stop, police said.
Collins had been drinking alcohol, McGilvary said, and was later arrested at his home but was not breath tested because he was not driving a vehicle at the time. Collins later posted bond of $5,000.
"He told me they were taking too long to bring his steak and he did not eat his steak. He said he was afraid he would be too drunk to drive by the time they brought it so he decided to leave," detective Tim McKaig said.
Collins starred in the 1972 TV series The Sixth Sense and was a guest star on may shows such as Perry Mason. In the 1980s, he hosted talk show Hour Magazine, The Home Show, and the Miss America Pageant for several years.
My kind of place.
TV Host Gary Collins Wanted in Hit and Run, Report Says
The serial drunk should be locked up for a long time.
Gary has been arrested for drunk driving 2 or 3 times recently. It’s sad.
We usually count on you yankee snowbirds buying cheap chinese crap at our flea markets. we call em “antiques” and we’re happy to take yo’ money
I agree, just about everything is a felony now. I mean you lose your civil rights, can’t own a gun etc. The punishment sounds about a hundred times worse than the crime.
It all evens out . . . we don’t even have to call the crap you buy “antiques.”
This must be one of the soon to be out of business restaurants in Boloxi.........Way over priced.........
If he complained about the service and did not eat the steak, I’m on his side. That is, IF, he didn’t also walk out on a big bar tab. However, if that’s the case, in my oppinion, he did not owe for the steak which means it’s not a felony.
Ruth’s Chris at the Hardrock Casino would probably be cheaper.
Gary: “I had a premonition that my wife was in imminent danger.”
Lil’ Ray’s in Gulfport would’ve been a better choice;

Agreed,, anyone that pays more than $10 bucks for a stake is getting screwed! I buy mine at SAM’s for $4bucks/lb. 5 mins on the grill.....MMMMMMMmmmmmm.
Will he flee to Canada and ask for political asylum. Nope, “that” would never work.
I would pay that much if a were dealing with a vampire.
Did that ever deal with ESP? (evading Steak Payment)
$14 bucks for catfish,,, you’ve got to be kidding.....WAY over priced for the south..........
