I was thinking about standing in line to see it tonight, but I just wanted to know if anyone had seen it and to read his or her opinion on it.
thank you
IT’S LOUSY!!
JUST ANOTHER HORRIBLE LIBERAL HOLLYWIERD RE-MAKE BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO NEW IDEAS!!!
But, no. I haven’t seen it yet...
I’m going to assume that it couldn’t possibly be any worse than the original...
And that was really bad. It would be difficult to stink more than that did. And I recall being excited about it when it came out.
I blew big bucks on the arcade game back in the day.
I watched the original Tron and didn’t understand a thing and was totally lost. This one looks even more confusing to me so I have no intention of seeing it.
I've heard that the special effects are good, but the story is terrible.
I guess if you loved the original movie, you will probably want to see it. I wasn't impressed with the original, so I'll wait for it to show up on cable.
Wife and I were thinking the same thing. Probably not though. Trailers look interesting...I enjoyed the original...hope there are some reviews on this thread!
It might be hard to find. I live in a pretty good sized metro-ara (Miami) and it's only playing in one theater here.
Yes, many people have seen it.
According to box office totals,
Tron Legacy took in $3.4 million
from midnight showings on 12/17.
It didn’t get a good review in the WSJ today. I have seen the previews a number of times, and it struck me as very PC.
However, this is only a $10.00 investment, so if it stinks, walk out. If it doesn’t, stay and enjoy it. And in either case, go out for dinner or at least drinks or dessert afterwards. Enjoy - and post a review here if you go to it!
Me too - it and Dig Dug were probably my fave arcade games in college.
I’m saving my coin for True Grit, which looks really great.
Yes went and seen it last night at 12:01. Was it worth it. Not sure, Special effects rate a 10. story line rates a 3. was it entertainment- yes I actually enjoyed it, not as political as Avatar but the Hollywierd crowd still politics into it. As in the programs need to get free from the users. Long 5 minutes speech by CLU about how users have everything and how the programs have to break the chains of slavery, blah blah woof woof.
Hope this helps
Jeff Bridges is a huge OBama fan. His old man was in the commie party and the commie’s in Hollywood had him play a SEAL on TV. Frauds.
Two of my teenage kids just saw it. Liked it.
Yes it was bad but I had a very nice nap whilst watching it.
…
If Tron: Legacy were one slam-bang set piece after another, there would be a case for ignoring everything else and focusing on the whiz and the bang. Unfortunately, after a leisurely real-world prologue and a big first-act gladiatorial sequence, the movie comes to a crashing haltand never really gets going again prior to the stumbling, muddled climax. In between, were left with plot and characters, and theres no getting away from the movies failure.
Look. Im not saying you cant enjoy Tron: Legacy as eye candy if you want to. But dont come to me making excuses like Hey, Avatar was all empty eye candy too. In terms of plot and character appeal, Tron: Legacy makes Avatar look like Raiders of the Lost Ark. Well, okay, not Raiders, but at least Romancing the Stone. Cameron is a master manipulator, and Avatar sucks you in from the get-go. Sullys emotional journey is eminently relatable, theres a hissable villain, and a world that you fall in love with.
I heard a review with this guy on the radio this morning and the take I got was that it sucked...
I read an interview with the maker, apparently they tried to give a more real-world feel to it. For example, the lights on the suits aren’t CGI anymore, but actually lighted suits.
I dunno, but I’d watch Olivia Wilde read a phone book.
