I've had this page bookmarked for years. For some reason, I thought that Craigslist might take it down because it's getting old, and I figured I'd share it.
This story is so quintessentially American to me. A happy and loved child, a loved animal, and a good, anonymous person.
It's probably my favorite thing ever, and I hope you enjoyed it.
Merry Christmas!

Now I have to explain why a gruff 53 year old man is tearing up at work. I loved the piece even if it is ruining my image.

I've held on to a copy of that since I first seen it. I figure I may need to borrow from it when my dog now 12 passes, and I have to deal with my little boys grief and my own.
By the way, it is not above God's power to bring out pet back to us when we go to Heaven someday. After all he created the pet specially for us in the first place, he is more than capable to do it again. Heaven will not lack one thing that will keep us happy, if it pleases God as well.
There is a book on the subject called “Cold noses at the Pearly Gates”.

Many have encountered a young friend at college or in the military, or at work, who is absolutely morose and devastated with the news that "their cat" at 24 years of age, passed on.
The pets in Heaven books don't exactly provide the guidance needed to comfort these folks.

There’s something in my eyes, must be dust or something.

OK...hope I’m spelling this correctly. Can’t hardly see the screen.
Ping for the family, tonight.

Thank you very much, dear Ron. Wonderful story of sweet love that healed the broken heart of a little girl.
