Need help with PC to Sony kdl-52nx800 TV.

Has anyone tried this? I cannot make it work for the life of me. Here's the setup:

Nvidia GTX460 video card in my pc- two dvi, one hdmi out. TV - Sony Bravia 52" LEDLCD Tv. 50'HDMI cable from PC to TV

I have tried everything. Checked native res of tv, and matched it on the output of my video card. Tested on another tv, from all three outputs of my video card, and it works fine. Tried my xbox 360 across the hdmi, works great.

But then I hook my Pc to the Sony tv- Nvidia control panel even recognizes it as "sony tv", but I have no image. Tried hooking it up direct via HDMI, also via both DVI ports on my video card via a DVI to HDMI adapter. Same result.

I know it's not my card(tried all outputs on another tv and it worked), I know it's not my cable(tried another source aka xbox), and I know it's not the res output of my card(1920x1080-native to tv).

Anyone have a clue what it could be? I tried connecting it while the tv's off, restart pc with only tv plugged in to my video card, etc. Nothing.

Help!!

50’ HDMI cable. That must’ve cost an arm and a foot...

try going under the control panel then to the displays and configure a secondary display as the TV.

Hope that helps

I find having someone else to the same thing I did just works for me. These devices know how to make people look stupid. I had the input to my TV set wrong last time I had a similar problem. I thought I set it but some how it changed,

Did your TV and video cards come with manuals?

Do a query on:

nvidia hdmi “no display” bravia

Since it works on another tv I would say driver or something not quite right with the Bravia input.

Anyhow, lots of hits with that query so maybe you’ll see something that fits right away.

I don't know if this will help, but give it a try. I'm actually dreading doing the same thing with my older Sony KDS TV. I'm sure it's going to stump me; I couldn't even figure out how to hook the stupid thing up to my receiver, DVR and DVD player so trying to hook up to a PC is going to be a bear.

I’ve got the 55” KDLhx800, and although I haven’t attached mine to my PC as of yet, I do have it hooked up to the internet. I would try a firmware update on your TV first if you already haven’t.

Good catch!

6 foot HDMI approximately 20 dollars.

Is there any error info that pops up on the screen or is it just black? I was installing a samsung lcd panel to a blueray and set top box, and found a hdmi cable 6’ that was bad. Yet the cable worked on my insignia lcd panel. Most of the lcd panels I’ve come across tell you to put the TV in 1080i mode for pc.

Hard to beat Amazon.

Save 85%, and I’ll bet that isn’t far off.

Depends on the speed rating. The Sony I have uses a 1000HD cable and just an 1 meter cable is un-flipping believably expensive...

6 foot HDMI approximately 20 dollars.

If you shop around, you can find a package of 3 six-foot HDMI cables for around $10.

Many stores have inflated HDMI cable prices. A $2.98 six-foot HDMI will work just as good as the $29.98 six-foot HDMI cable.

With my laptop-to-LCD TV, I have to reset the laptop's desktop properties.

Right click on the laptop screen >> properties >> and select the appropriate:

Photobucket

The above are on my ACER laptop. The selections on your pc may have different wording.

Then, I select RGB on the TV as the input.
