On the honorable island nation of North Dumpling, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerrys preside as Ministers of Ice Cream, while other notables hold such titles as Minister of Brunch and Minister of Nepotism. North Dumpling has its own constitution, issues its own visas, and prints its own currency, which bears the likeness of its most famous (OK, only) resident. But while his very private island off the coast of Connecticut may have its whimsies, renowned inventor Dean Kamen wants to show the world the fun in functionality. Hes created the most carbon-neutral kingdom on the planet carbon-negative, in fact. And he hopes to inspire young people to follow his lead in seeking out innovation so that they, too, can become island rulers or at least the masters of their fates.

Last I heard, the Greeks are selling off their island, cheap...you could buy yourself an entire domain...

Build your own island, one load of rocks at a time. :-)

Sounds good but I wonder how long it would be before the State Department decided to spread a little “democracy” to your island.
Put up a token resistance and then get aid to rebuild your island’s infrastructure (including stuff you didn’t have).
Yes, he's spent multiple millions of dollars on wind and solar energy, and produces more energy than he uses. Most of the time. Funny, I wonder how “carbon-neutral” the jet turbine is on his helicopter?
I wonder if he rides his segway near cliffs?
There was a movie a long time ago called “The Mouse That Roared” that had a very small country declare war against the US to do exactly that, rebuild their failing economy.
Yep. It starred Peter Sellers.
I guess they forgot to think about the carbon footprint for manufacturing and transporting the wind and solar power gear.
Carbon neutral? With a HELECOPTER? I don’t think so. Also, somebody somewhere uses quite a bit of energy to build all of his stuff, like the wind generators and solar panels. Then to transport it to his little kingdom, doesn’t that use energy? What about his food, clothing, etc? Does he grow all that on his island?
I see we think alike.
The only people who were carbon neutral were the cave men... before fire.
Yes, it did. I forgot that.
In fact, he played two roles in that film.
Ah, ah....”Cave Persons”. Bigot.
There were cavemen, and those softer things they used to drag around by their hair. After clubbing them, of course.
They began by dragging them by their feet, but then they discovered the disadvantage of that method.

That's actually how Ft. Sumter was built...
