For a lot of America, the NY Yankees has been a team to root for....everyone in this country always had a little NY in them...attitude, if you know what I mean....
And while I would normally say the results are caused by the players on the field, I have to believe that there may be another factor involved: America is not rooting for NY right now, because NY mayor Bloomberg has "blessed" the Mosque that NO American wants at Ground Zero, and thereby alienating a large segment of Americans who would normally be rooting for the Yankees......
I know, I know, this even sounds strange to me, but Bloomberg has turned off a lot of New Yorkers, too.....and as long as this creep supports the mosque, there will be bad feelings for NY, like it or not....he is a bad mayor, and not reflective of today's American Renaissance as embodied by the Tea Party
Go Texas, they reflect the Tea Party and the good old America we know.....
and I am a New Yorker....I was there when Rudy was the man....and no matter what anyone says, he was the guy that turned around NY...I saw what he did....
Saw the headline and wonder whether Bloomie had prohibited the chewing of tobacco or something...
...don’t forget,. it was bloominidiot who FIRST described the Times Squire bomber as “probably” someone upset with Obamacare before he suddenly went quiet when the truth became evident. He is such a scumbag a****** who can’t stay out of people’s lives.
The Yankees think they are entitled to 'World Championships'...may they dwell at the bottom of the AL East (along with the Red Sox) for many years to come...
Yes, I was there too and suddenly I could walk the streets of NYC in freedom. But don’t tell that to anti-Guiliani Freepers who live in Virginia and Texas. I learned that the hard way!
This conflation of the Yankees and Bloomberg is off the wall. What makes me laugh is all the folks in town wearing brand new stiff Yankee caps while I walk around in my old tattered one, lol!
What is it with these short people anyway? :-)
I support and the Red Sox and any team playing the Yankees! :)
Wrong, wrong, wronger than wrong. There is no little part of me anywhere that roots for the Yankees, ever. There is a little part of me that wants them to die in a house fire but even I'm not proud of that.
I celebrated the Diamnondback win in 2001 and went out of my way to get a championship T-shirt, the playoff comeback in 2004 was the sweetest moment in sports.
No, there is no part of me that ever roots for the team that tunrned a beautiful game into a sordid business.
complexes
Rudy took over after the “wash room attendant” screw NYC up something terrible......another example of a political correct “first”
I've seen you posting on the ESPN forums during Red Sox games... :-)
Seriously...I can't believe some of the postings I have read on there...it's a frickin' baseball game. Get a grip.
Go Rangers! 3 down 1 to go!!!
The fact that you make walking the streets in freedom such a big deal says a lot more about NYC than it does about Giuliani.
C> J. vs. the fat sweaty guy today at 4 EST...be there. Take ‘em out today, Rangers, and we might get that Lee-Lincecum match-up...sweet.
Are you people for real?
It is baseball...the players determine who the winning team is. Between the lack of bats and the weak bull pen and Girardi’s over managing blunders the Yankees are jinxing themselves.
As much as I’d savor a win this year I don’t think it is going to happen.
The Yankees are the bloated Big Government of baseball... when in doubt, throw more money at it. Buck Faceball.
Even if Bloomberg had firmly opposed the mosque, everyone would still hate the Yankees - because the outrageous payroll and suffering arrogance of their fans would still be there.
Besides, these Rangers are the real deal! They’re getting the job done, making the Yankees look like a Triple-A club, and not even breaking a sweat in the process.
Maybe Joe Girardi should worry less about a customer who can’t finish his Taco Bell chalupe and more about his pitchers who can’t finish an inning.
(And after tonight, that might be the last we ever see of that commercial).
NYer’s sure have that superiority complex don’t they?
I don’t think America roots for them.
Besides Texas Rangers are the ultimate underdogs.
Ah, yes, the residents of Louisiana are now telling me about NYC. Talk to me when YOU clean up New Orleans.
