Audio file interview of Robert Felix who is the author of Not By Fire, But By Ice and founder of Ice Age Now, one of the biggest climate sites on the web.
He discusses the findings that underscored Magnetic Reversals & Evolutionary Leaps, a study in the relationship between climate, pole shifts, and the evolution of species.

The atlas of the past holds many surprises. To reconstruct it, all that is needed is to subtract from the map of today the ocean floor made since the date in question. The key is in the Earths magnetic field. Every few hundred thousand years, what was the North Pole becomes the South until the poles reverse once more in their endless dance. The switch is recorded in the rocks. Great stripes of magnetic reversal across the bottom of the ocean mark their movements.
Imagine if the core began wobbling, unbalanced, within the mantel. That should create some seismic activity!
Another thing, the Earth's precession occasionally has to catch up (there are charts/programs that demo this). This means that structures and bodies such as the mantel, core, oceans, Earth's crust, mountains, ice caps are affected differently by the inertial of the precession speeding up or slowing down. Imagine the disasters this could cause when/if this happens.
Wow ... That video is impressive ... Our home on Earth is moving around a whole lot more, and relatively far faster, than most people realize.
It’s sped up many times but with a mass as great as the Earth’s crust, it has to cause differential inertial shifts between structures during periods where precession is speeding up or slowing down. These periods should be predictable as regardless of path, the time of precession is always the same so that if the path gets extended, the speed of the precession of a spinning object, from a simple top to the Earth, has to increase to keep its appointed time.
"Polarity reversals, equinoctial precession, and ice ages, all march to the same drummer. As do extinctions, new species appearance, volcanism, and rising land. Toss in the specter of massive floods, 30-story tsunami (tsunami is both singular and plural), and radioactivity falling on your head, and you've got the picture."
