COLLIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A teenager who had just passed his driving test crashed into a state driver license center in western Pennsylvania Wednesday.
The crash happened Wednesday afternoon as the teen was trying to leave the parking lot of a driver license center in the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center on Washington Pike in the Pittsburgh suburb of Bridgeville.
Witness Tyler Cherilla said that a young driver appeared to be taking a test with an instructor when the car went through a window, sending glass shattering inside the center.
"I was sitting inside getting my picture taken and looked over and there was this car. It just came slamming into the front door," Cherilla said.

I have a cousin that hit a cow...in a pasture...because the DMV guy told her to turn right here...and she did.
...he was probably texting at the time...oh, we’re not suppose to do that,....well duh.
oops. time for some remedial training.
I was so hyped when I got my license at the courthouse, that I promptly ran the only stop sign in town. Completely forgot it was there.
Guess he didn’t get his license....
A 16 yr old, finishing his driving test with an off-duty Colorado Highway Patrol officer and 3 passengers, turned left, into the CHP station.....directly into the path of my brother and his family.
This is a 40 mph zone, on a country highway. 3 Transported to the hospital, treated and released. Both cars totaled.
The article says he passed the test!
Wanna bet this didn't go through some minds? (Like a windshield going through a bug's mind during the "splat?")
It did not state the gender of the driver?
When I took my semi license the tester had that, “deer in the headlights” kind of look. He told me that the last time he tested a woman they ended up in someone’s yard, crashed through a tree and into the front porch. He told me if I just got him safely around the block I would pass. I did, but we did do the whole driving test and I came out fine. Hope I renewed his faith in the female gender.
On my 16th birthday back in 1975 (boy am I OLD) I made the following mistakes:
1. Forgot to signal pulling out of the license bureau.
2. During the dreaded three-point-turn, hit the curb with both front and rear tires. (ever try a three-point-turn with a 1970 Buick LeSabre?)
3. Was speeding. Doing 40 MPH halfway between the 35 and 45 signs.
4. Drove on the wrong side of the road.....took the left (short) side of the divided highway crossover when turning back into the license bureau.
5. Ran up onto the curb when parking at the end.
Guy had me scared to death. Took four more tries (and a different tester guy) before I got my license.
