Well Kids.....I have just returned from seeing the best movie this year...IMHO..."Secretariat".....
You could call it a little film, because it's a simple film in many ways.....I want to call it a great film, a wonderful film, but that's more how you feel inside watching it...
It isn't political in any way, but it will allow America, and all who see it, to better understand the deepness of our Sarah......Penny Chenery, the woman who believed in her horse and her own God given instincts, and whom this story is based on, will show you the stuff Sarah is made of.....and I believe this film will help Sarah to the White House....
Penny Chenery has the stuff American women who traveled west with their family had....True Grit if I may.....she faced the odds and believed in herself and her heart and those she chose to put her faith in, and they all performed beyond expectations....
Indeed, I believe that John Malkovich will be nominated for an Academy Award, and he deserves to win it....he is worth going for all by himself.......
And on top of that, it's a pet owners film....even if you have fish, you will appreciate them more when you return home.....I have a dog, I've always had a dog, and I couldn't help but love him a little more after seeing this film...this "simple little" film.....
Even the ending notes leave you feeling good....these are all real people and a real horse and a true story.....and while Penny Chenery is the star of the story.....there has never been a horse like Secretariat, and like the Babe...I don't think there will be again....They are icons and heroes, and something we need more of today in America.....
The whole time I was in the theater I kept seeing Sarah Palin on the screen......a brave woman facing the arrogance of others, and winning in the end.
Well, now we know why the real reason the libs hate this film so much.
well put, indeed....
Diane Lane is still gorgeous. I had read last year that she retired from films, but here she is. Maybe this was her last movie? And I really enjoy John Malkovich... he was superb in that role.
A great family movie. The only cussing was in French.
It is an improvement that Palin is compared to a horse than Ronald Reagan.
John Malkovich is a conservative too!
he was so great in this, a very different character....and funny....and deep at the same time.....there is scene at the end before the big race when his face is full screen....very powerful in the simplest way....
(this comment is for the others here not you)...what kind of mind could think I was comparing her to the horse....
Extra credit reading.
:)
Have just seen this wonderful film. Anyone who loves freedom, individual choice, hard work, determination, focus, overcoming hardship, strong willed women and...a truly American success story will love and adore this film. The actors and acting is outstanding across the board. One of the great films of the year!!! All folks who love freedom, America and the individual should take the time to see this magnificent film!!!
I believe that Sarah was compared Secretariat's owner, Penny Chenery:
...Penny Chenery, the woman who believed in her horse and her own God given instincts, and whom this story is based on, will show you the stuff Sarah is made of>
I remember watching Secretariat win all three Triple Crown races. There never was, and there never will be, a horse like Secretariat.
Oh please. You are obsessed.
“.what kind of mind could think I was comparing her to the horse..”
Was gonna comment but Ill keep my mouth shut..
I look forward to seeing it. There’s something about horse movies. Sea Biscuit is one of my favorite films of all time.
You see Palin in everything. Seek help.
I saw the movie Saturday and loved it! If we patronize uplifting films like this one maybe hollyweird will make more of them!
I loved Big Red. He was the greatest. This movie had nothing to do with politics and I am glad.
thanks for the photo
Actually there was a little politics in it. The war protestors and the bit about the inheritance taxes. I did like the movie a bunch. Want to see it again.
