Westboro Baptist Church, the small Topeka, Kan., church that pickets funerals of American soldiers to spread its message that God is punishing the country for being tolerant of homosexuals, has vowed to hold a Quran burning if Gainesville's Dove World Outreach Center calls its off.
"WBC burned the Koran once – and if you sissy brats of Doomed america bully Terry Jones and the Dove World Outreach Center until they change their plans to burn that blasphemous tripe called the Koran, then WBC will burn it (again), to clearly show you some things," the church announced in a news release this week.
And Jones in the last day has indicated some reluctance to burn the Muslim holy book.
The Canadian Press reported Thursday that in an interview with a Canadian radio station, Jones said the church was considering calling it off.

Maybe Phelps should burn some copies of Al Gore’s manfiesto. It drove a man to commit an act of terrorism at Discovery tv last week.
Well the Preacher has made a deal not to burn the Korans if they move the Mosque somewhere else. Good.

If this won’t convince you that this whole Koran-burning stunt was staged by liberal trolls to make our side look bad, what will?
Some podunk announces he’s going to burn Korans, and now we have people right here on FR insisting we NO LONGER HAVE A CHOICE except to burn the Koran, or we’ll be appeasing the enemy. Now, who’s the slave—someone who says “I don’t want to burn a Koran because it’s stupid and pointless,” or someone who says, “We have no choice but to burn the Koran?”
This isn’t going to end well, guys. And Americans aren’t even p*ssed off yet.
At least this forced the worlds attention on Muslim intolerance. They say they’re a religion of peace and wish to bridge the gap, tolerate others and live in peace but then the whole Muslim world erupts over even the threat of Koran burning. But banning or burning our bible, our flag and our institutions is perfectly okay.
