How do you create a lifelong dependency on welfare when the time limits are on average 48 months? Clinton signed TANF in an election year that limited time frames and promoted conservative values? Let’s get our facts straight before we debate on emotion. That’s what liberals do.
Did they happen to cut to commercial break right after he said it? I can see them going to a break and he and Hannity rolling on the floor laughing while Hannity screams, “GOOD ONE, BECKEL... GOOD ONE!!!”
Has Beckel finally been mugged by reality, or did he just have a momentary grasp of reason?
To paraphrase from the Matrix: “That, Mr. Anderson, is the sound of inevitability.” Beckel knows what’s coming in November. He is jumping out of the way of the oncoming train.

Wouldn't be surprising. When the Dems in the Senate wanted to strip Lieberman of his seniority perks and committee chairmanship because Lieberman had run as an Independent and defeated the Democratic candidate for Senate in Connecticut, Harry Reid stuck up for Lieberman and saw to it that he remained as a committee chairman. (They needed that 60th vote.)
Just remember,not all liberals are leftists. Any REAL liberal keeps an open mind. A real liberal might even agree with the right now and again.

With regard to "welfare dependency", the term welfare encompasses far more than one specific federal program, one of the few (possibly the only) that has any time limit at all.

Food stamps, title 20, education grants, transportation money, free lunch/breakfast programs and section 8 all have 48 month limits?

The helpful social worker will step in and find a disability, if at all possible, sometimes at least one per family member. I just was told today that in a near-by rural village, there are people classified as disabled for purposes of collecting SSD because they are illiterate.
Felons who have served a prison term are, upon release, classified as a disadvantaged minority. This carries with it food stamps, a clothing stipend (work clothes and casual clothes), a vehicle stipend, a tool stipend if they have a trade, Section 8 and Medicare.
While I despise Beckel, if he is really in honest recovery (I believe this isn't the first time), he can be capable of not spewing propaganda. When he's drinking, he flushes really easily and becomes belligerent. Hmmm..... I just wonder if he drinks because he has to lie so much.
Welfare reform was replaced with “tax credits”. How else to folks get tax returns when they pay no Federal Taxes? Great gig right?
