It's been a rough week for Fantasia Barrino.
The American Idol season 3 champ was hospitalized Monday in Charlotte, N.C., after overdosing on aspirin and a sleep aid, her manager Brian Dickens confirmed Tuesday.
"Her injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time," Dickens said. "Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon."
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the incident was classified as a suicide attempt. The police report lists Dickens as the reporting person and says Barrino was found with "possible internal injuries."

She is one of the worst singers ever — all she did was screech. No wonder a 5th or 6th placer shot past her and snagged an Oscar.
The only winners of Idol who have done well are Underwood and Clarkson. I was at Busch Gardens, VA last weekend and they were featuring David Cook. I guess the local County Fair hadn’t opened its doors yet.
Sorry to hear about her problems, but when you are promised so much and get it with so little talent, you are bound to be continuously disappointed in your “career.”
Sounds like a PR stunt to me. I do not watch American Idol, so I had no idea who this is. I hope she sings better than she looks.
The rep just released a statement saying Fantasia ingested the medication after feeling “overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention” surrounding her relationship with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Antwaun Cook ... who happens to be married.

She may not be an exceptional singer, but she has a good life story save for the suicide attempt. She did a movie for the Lifetime network.
Maybe community theater might be the next place for her.

A month after Paula Cook separated from her husband, Barrino is alleged to have interrupted a phone conversation between the estranged couple, telling Cook, “He don’t want you. Maybe the next time you get a husband you’ll know how to keep him. That’s why he is here with me,” according to the documents.
Barrino has appeared publicly with a tattoo on her left shoulder reading “Cook,” an apparent tribute to Antwaun Cook, who is said to have a similar tattoo in the same place on his shoulder, according to the documents.
Death by asprin overdose is pretty nasty from what I’ve heard, there are better ways to kill yourself.
Since I am pro life I will pray for her to find a way to live her life in a productive honorable way.
She is a mother and her child deserves a mother who loves and cherishes her.
