TYLER, Texas — An 83-year-old east Texas woman is recovering after being attacked by a pit bull mix authorities say may have been used in illegal dog fighting.
Glynda Hulsey and her two dogs were attacked as she walked to her mailbox in Smith County last week. She made it back to her house, with the dog following, and her husband shot the dog.

Those dogs had the only intention of licking her to death! It’s just that their teeth got in the way. They should be judged on their intentions instead of their actions. They are such a misunderstood breed.

When enough scumbags are jailed, the desire to not spend the rest of their lives in jail will override the feeling of incompetence which leads them to buy these dogs in the first place.

It's a fair accusation. Chet's MO is to drop these stories and let the pro/con fun ensue. They accomplish little. In the old days, the bandwidth police woulda been on him like a pitbull on a poodle.
Poor woman. Good to know there’s someone out there that can still use a gun when it’s needed. Thanks for posting this story. Now, where are the other one thousand, nine hundred and ninety or so other dog attack stories that should have been published? Seems a little unbalanced.

Yeah, with the fine upstanding citizens these dogs had as owners, I'm sure it would have been all kittens and rainbows if they had been German Shepherds or Dobies!

I know you’re being facetious. That’s why I provided facts showing that pit bulls are not a dangerous breed.
Can you kill an attacking Great Dane with your bare hands? How about a Golden Retriever? A 120lb Great Pyrenees? All of those breeds scored lower than the pit bull on temperament tests by the ATTS.
I provided facts to you that show the pit bull hysteria is BS. The same media that put rocket engines on the gas tank of a truck, tells people that people like you and me owning a pistol is the reason that ganag shootings happen in South Central L.A. and told everyone Toyotas were going to kill all of us says pit bulls are vicious child killers on a hair trigger. An organization that tests the temperaments of dog breeds using a carefully constructed test says p[its are a little more mellow than a Golden Retriever. Which is more believable to you?
