Just outside of Sacramento on Hwy 16 there is a Farm, called Sloughhouse

Used to live in Sac....I never could see why "they" didn't spell it Slewhouse. Should would have been easier on a newcomer like I was. :)

Because it was named after the slough, which is a ditch that was used for controlling floods, although it didn’t work very well, used to flood that part of the hwy out every year until they took steps and put in different type of flood control, even so, in bad years it still floods. Anyhow, that type of ditch is called a slough and not spelled slew.:) Great corn at any rate!
