If you were in the presence of a man having a heart attack, how would you respond? As he clutched his chest in desperation and pain, would you call 911? Would you try to save him from dying? Of course you would.
But if that man was Rush Limbaugh, and you were Sarah Spitz, a producer for National Public Radio, that isnt what youd do at all.
In a post to the list-serv Journolist, an online meeting place for liberal journalists, Spitz wrote that she would Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out as Limbaugh writhed in torment.

The more this administration attacked FNC the more listeners and viewers flocked to FNC.
Their vicious lies gained them nothing but contempt from real Americans.
We are still out here. Bloodied but now bowed.
We will remember in November.

Great stuff.
The very existence of Fox News, meanwhile, sends Journolisters into paroxysms of rage. When Howell Raines charged that the network had a conservative bias, the members of Journolist discussed whether the federal government should shut the channel down.

Spitz wrote that she would Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out as Limbaugh writhed in torment. But isn't that "mean-spirited", or are only Repubs guilty of that?

This was the part, it was on the second “page”:
Jonathan Zasloff, a law professor at UCLA, suggested that the federal government simply yank Fox off the air. I hate to open this can of worms, he wrote, but is there any reason why the FCC couldnt simply pull their broadcasting permit once it expires?
To: Outside da Box
Typical of those 'freedom and tolerance loving' liberals, huh? Can't handle the truth, shut it down. =.=

Thanks! I read the article earlier and it only said:
“Jonathan Zasloff, a law professor at UCLA, suggested that the federal government simply yank Fox off the air. Do you really want the political parties/white house picking which media operations are news operations and which are a less respectable hybrid of news and political advocacy?

but is there any reason why the FCC couldnt simply pull their broadcasting permit once it expires? Fox News doesn't broadcast over the airwaves. I may be wrong, but doesn't that prevent FCC from having any control? Does the FCC regulate cable?

Psychiatric help will not work. Throw them in a rubber room filled with conservative books and periodicals. Make sure there are several TVs in the room tuned to FNC and Fox Business News.

George Creel (December 1, 1876 October 2, 1953) was an investigative journalist, a politician, and, most famously, the head of the United States Committee on Public Information, a propaganda organization created by President Woodrow Wilson during World War I.
Edward Louis Bernays (November 22, 1891 March 9, 1995, was an American pioneer in the field of public relations and propaganda along with Ivy Lee, referred to in his obituary as "the father of public relations".[1] Combining the ideas of Gustave Le Bon and Wilfred Trotter on crowd psychology with the psychoanalytical ideas of his uncle, Dr. Sigmund Freud, Bernays was one of the first to attempt to manipulate public opinion using the subconscious.
He felt this manipulation was necessary in society, which he regarded as irrational and dangerous as a result of the 'herd instinct' that Trotter had described.[citation needed] Adam Curtis's award-winning 2002 documentary for the BBC, The Century of the Self, pinpoints Bernays as the originator of modern public relations, and Bernays was named one of the 100 most influential Americans of the 20th century by Life magazine.[2]
Books by George Bernays were where Joseph Goebbels got his inspiration for using propaganda.
"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society."
Edward Bernays

Into the dark recessess of the crypto-fascists i.e. progressives. Their response to something that disagrees with their world-view: SHUT IT DOWN!!! Yes, have the government shut it down. Now, I'd love for the Obama admin to try to do such a thing, because it would assure its ouster in 2012.
But here we are in the twentyfirst century, and we have supposed guardians of free speech urging the government to shut down a news org. that doesn't reflect their thinking. The term fascist fits these loons to a tee. Incidentally, anyone read or hear any conservatives urging the gov to shut down MSNBC? The thought doesn't occur to conservatives.
