You would not believe the cost of aircraft parts - new or used for jet or turbojet aircraft.
Additionally, it's likely that BOTH engines needed an overhaul. Why would one engine have less time than the other? (rhetorical, you need not respond). Just likely poor journalism.

If you had to do a complete over haul of all engines, the cost is not out of line.
Basically at that level it is a total rebuild. Who knows if proper maintenance was ever done and just caught at the sale.
The guy was an idiot to not check hours on the engines before purchase.
