Why not? USC is toast for at least a decade and probably 15 years with those incredible sanctions.

OU would only play USC every four years and would only visit SoCal every eight years. A sixteen team conference is really two conferences with a joint television contract. The worst thing about the new conference would be picking up Arizona and Arizona State every year. Nothing against them, but there's no history or tradition between them and any of the schools in the current Big 12.

Besides, as others have noted, with the probation and other stuff **Lane Kiffen**, SoCal will probably be a slightly above average team for the next few years.
