Curious. When friends cease being friends over something religious or political, it’s usually one friend who continues to push the issue when the other would rather let it go and get along. Did your friends push the issue, or did you?

I guess I pushed the issue in a way.

The woman is not stupid. I was not going to let it rest until that was the final word and the final verdict.

Actually, I lost my best friend....of course she is a retired black school teacher.

It seems she got mortally offended when I called Obama a progressive/socialist/communist.

(and then I included the word “anti-christ” in there somewhere)

;-)

I pushed the issue....so I am guilty

Usually, but not always. I've lost friends and even some family members because I'm a conservative, something considered unforgivable when you're a black man. I never 'pushed' anything. I just refused to have my views dictated to me as if I were an intellectual slave and questioned the qualifications of one B. Hussein Obama.

I can see where ohio is coming from and agree with him totally. Most of the idiots who voice strong anti Palin comments cannot give you one valid reason for this feeling. If they are at least a little bit informed about her record and can hold a reasoned discussion I accept their feelings with no animosity.

Most of the time though, it's for some MSM repeated mantra

and I'm all done suffering fools!

It is idiots like this who are resposible for the socialist mulatto who is presently defiling our White House and the office of the Presidency. I don't have the time in my life to devote to people who are close and have some political knowledge and common sense as it is.

I haven't lost friends yet, but I am close to blasting some relatives who are morons. The way I see it, they cancel my vote and destroy my children's future with their Dumocrat stupidity. If they couldn't see through Clinton and Obama with all of the warnings, it is also a clue that they are not only stupid, but they are not patriots.

When I learn that someone is a Democrat I instantly know that we do not share the same values, and I don't have a need to have them in my life.

Curious. When friends cease being friends over something religious or political, it’s usually one friend who continues to push the issue when the other would rather let it go and get along. Did your friends push the issue, or did you? ..... Melas

From the quote below, it sounds like the latter:

"I have lost THREE real life friends now in trying to defend Sarah Palin. On one hand I tend to think the people who call her stupid are not the kind of people I even want as friends anyhow. However, I wonder if im being too harsh and going too far." ..... se_ohio_young_conservative

Once you "go too far" and push aside "real life friends" over a politician, you really have to get your priorities in order.

Sarah Palin may not be "stupid" but let's just say that it is obvious that she got a public school high school education in a town where academics was not stressed and two of her four colleges in four years, North Idaho College and Matanuska–Susitna College, offered only Associates Degrees. Her sub-standard education shows and her fund of knowledge is rather shallow.:

Heilemann said that even after crash-course tutorials by campaign aides following the convention, Palin was still woefully uninformed about basic policy issues. “She still didn’t really understand why there was a North Korea and a South Korea,”

Yes, Sarah Palin can dish out the talking points that conservatives want to hear. So can everybody on Free Republic.

Be that as it may, anybody that can't automatically rattle off a coherent explanation of the political dynamics at end of World War II that left Manchuria and the Korean peninsula north of the 38th parallel under Soviet occupation has no historical grasp of the world that we live in as is as unqualified to be President of the United States as Barack Obama currently is.

Correct, making friends requires two people, ending a friendship requires just one.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Actually, I did not push, and the liberals didn’t push me. I simply walked away from the friendship.

The 2000 Florida recount did it for me. It was then that I realized the Democrats were really vicious Marxists. They would literally do anything to gain power. At that point I realized that liberals ( who are really Marxists) were too stupid or too evil to have as friends.
