Meeting a famous makeup artist, what a daunting prospect! I am due to meet famed English makeup artist, Jennifer Lenard on the 19th April. She has worked on many fashion shows and TV projects. Her TV projects include: Dalziel and Pascoe, Crossroads, Last of the Summer Wine and many period dramas. Recently, Jennifer has opened her own shop and make up school where she teaches pupils from all over Great Britain. She is also an examiner, which signifies she has the power to pass or fail pupils as she sees fit.
I meet Jennifer at the school located in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, I am nervous as I pull up outside the French vintage building, with an interior that follows the same theme. She greets me in the breath-taking reception area which has a fabulous decor. The walls are splashed in photos of 50s and 60s sirens such as Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. She also has pictures of all the famous clients she has worked with. There are glass boxes scattered around the room casing stunning tiaras and jewellery to hire or buy. There is a gorgeous screen covered in heavy billowing curtains stained a beige shade to give an aging effect. This is where clients may change into one of the beautiful dresses that hang on the sides. If one was to hire a prom dress or ball gown, the shop has a professional seamstress to alter to your acquired taste. An array of branded makeup is spread around the stand.
