I never fear being alone at night. My mastiff is always alert, even when he’s snoring. Not a joke.
Makes you feel good doesn’t it. No one is going to sneak up on us night or day either. We have 3 Jack Russel Terriers and a Black Mouth Cur. The Jacks sleep in our bed and the Cur at the foot of our bed. They know when a car comes into the driveway or when someone steps up on the porch and they bark. Of course they know when there are squirrels in the bird feeder too.
I want to tell people who don’t have dogs that a SECURITY DOG sign out in front of their house will make a random burglar go on to another house. People just don’t want to mess with dogs, especially big ones.
I use to say the same thing about my dearly departed husband..
