The Stillers won the Super Bowl the following year.

You know, I've been thinking about Big Ben and Santonio and there is one difference. Santonio already has a conviction of being in posession of a blount. Plus he has apparently twittered something recently that is a reference to doing drugs. That being the case, they might be more concerned about the drug angle than this woman in the news.

Remember so far Ben hasn’t even been arrested, sued once and accused once, no arrests and no charges. That’s enough to get some rumblings going, he’s going to have to straighten his ship, don’t be surprised if the Steelers grab a QB in the second day of the draft as a warning.

Well, both ended up winning a Super Bowl within the next three years (Steelers without Plax, Giants with Plax), so they both came out better due to the trade.

Anyone remember who the leading rusher in Superbowl XXX was?

Bam Morris, who is still in the pokey, right?

Bam Morris, who is still in the pokey, right? I don't know. I think he got 5 years in 2005, but those years are sometimes only six months.
To: HospiceNurse
It helped the Giants win a superbowl.

“On September 10, 2001, Morris was convicted of violating his parole stemming from his 1996 plea bargain and sentenced to 10 years in a Texas prison. He was released early on July 31, 2004.” - Wikipedia

Awesome considering Plax is sitting in prison right now.

It would be just like the Brownies to pick up a guy who is a pothead with a 50/50 shot at being out of football in a a year or two.

And lets also remember that Bam Morris was dropped like a sledgehammer when he was convicted for dope posession. Of course he immediately signed with the Ravens so maybe this should be directed at them. He was caught with that dope after Superbowl XXX.

And then there was Joey Porter getting shot. He later went on to make another team proud for DUI, resisting arrest, and asaulting a police officer.

"And then there was Joey Porter getting shot."
Yes, he got shot in the butt in a nightclub. You have to question his judgement concerning what nightclubs he hangs out in, but we can't say it was really his fault. If you also remember, while a Steeler, he also had some incident where one of his rotweilers killed some kind of animal of his next door neighbors. Not a big thing, but still, he made it to the blotter...
To: hometoroost
Yes, it would. But with their 12 draft choices and number of holes on the team (including experienced wide receivers who can actually hold on to a ball), plus the revolving door relationship they have with the Jets, the Santonio Holmes trade rang some bells.
