American Minute for March 16th:
Called the "Chief Architect of the Constitution," he wrote many of the Federalist Papers which helped convince States to ratify the Constitution.
He introduced the First Amendment in the first session of Congress.
This was James Madison, born MARCH 16, 1751.
During the War of 1812, Madison proclaimed two National Days of Prayer, 1812 and 1813.
When the British marched on Washington, D.C., citizens evacuated, along with President and Dolly Madison.
On August 25, 1814, as the British burned the White House, Capitol and public buildings, dark clouds began to roll in. A tornado sent debris flying, blew off roofs and knocked chimneys over on top of British troops. Two cannons were lifted off the ground and dropped yards away. A British historian wrote: "More British soldiers were killed by this stroke of nature than from all the firearms the American troops had mustered."
British forces fled in confusion and rains extinguished the fires.
Madison then proclaimed a National Day of Public Humiliation, Fasting & Prayer to Almighty God on November 16, 1814.
Two weeks after the War ended, Madison proclaimed a National Day of Thanksgiving & Devout Acknowledgment to Almighty God, March 4, 1815.
President Madison issued proclamations which acknowledged the need for national prayer to God and then when the nation was protected by divine intervention, the need for a day of fasting and national "humiliation" before Almighty God (Humble thanks for His Miraculous Protection).
God is still using nature today to accomplish His will and purposes. How we need a national day of fasting and prayer today!
Thank God for President James Madison and all his Godly influence on the founding of this nation!
So in the Federalist Papers where Madison talks about factions do you think he is speaking of the ultra leftist that have taken over Washiongton, DC??
Pinging you to today’s American Minute about James Madison and about God’s miraculous intervention on behalf of our nation during the war of 1812.
Awesome event in history that probably is not included in our history books...ya think?
If you don’t want to be pinged to this thread, please Freepmail me.
God bless and keep you all today!
Perhaps he foresaw what might come in our day - Godly insight was certainly given him as he wrote the Federalist Papers and as he led this country during those founding years and then again as President.
That was an Awesome Read, Freedom’sWorthIt! Thank you.
God is still using nature today to accomplish His will and purposes.
He sure tried this winter and even during Christmas Eve week, but the democrats defied Him.
How we need a national day of fasting and prayer today!
Indeed, and I am willing.
Thanks for the ping.
It may yet reappear in our textbooks since Texas decided to take them back from the Statists.
Being a Founder has little meaning today.
Thanks for the ping!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Bookmarked.
Here is why enumerated powers is so important:
Bill of Rights, Amendment X
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

It is indeed a miracle.
Strangest thing — my dad was telling me about this miracle over the phone last weekend. He’d forgotten I had told him about it years ago. Then I get a ping about it.
You are very welcome!
Hi, Onyx! You are very welcome!
Yes, indeed, I am willing too.
This “horrible” winter has been a lesson, I believe, from our Creator God for all the Global Warmists - and to us all - as to just WHO is in charge of the weather = and it’s not “mother earth”. LOL
Yes - mine did too! (And I did not learn of this “miracle” until yesterday reading it from William Federer’s American Minute!)
You are very welcome for the ping - glad you enjoyed this post! Ping somebody you know who might also enjoy it.
You know - I actually had that thought when I wrote my comment about this incident not being in our textbooks! Hallelujah for the Texas Textbook Commission and its decisions on what will be included in history textbooks going forward!!!
In my own state of NC, the school boards here have been getting ready to delete all the Revolutionary War era history from being required teaching in our schools!!!
Hopefully the Texas decision is going to help overturn this foolishness!
Only to the ignorant...which is why I treasure the work of this William Federer and others who are working hard to remind Americans of the ideas and ideals of our nation’s founders!
Thank you - and Happy Saint Patrick’s Day back at you!
