As you will read in the following Rob is back in the United States. Please read the following and pray for Rob and his family.
This is the latest post from the father of GSergent Robert Gilbert, as he prepares to bring his badly injured son home for medical attention. The letter was posted this afternoon on Matt Patrick's Facebook page. Things are grim.
Dear Family and Friends, Good Morning! It is Oh Six Thirty, Sir (0630) in Germany and the Marine Chaplin and Marine liaison just picked Ruth Ann, Dana and Heidi up to transport them to the Frankfurt Airport. They will be boarding a Delta Airbus flight back to America, so keep them in your prayers.
I however, will be headed to the Air Force flight ... See Moredeck where I get my solid steel, most likely a lovely shade of drab green, reinforced, bungee corded to the hydraulic lines chair in the spacious C-17. My Gunny is allowing me to be in his world!
I am truly looking forward to being with my son, in his world, in this flight back to His America and caring for his needs.
While the Chaplin was sitting with me, this morning, at the breakfast table in the Fisher House he asked if God takes my child home, "Will you live each day until you die or will you die before you are dead?"
I told the Chaplin that I have a letter from GSgt Robert addressed to me that was to be opened in the event of him being injured. In that letter GSgt Robert was specific in his request of me in his absence. GSgt Robert also said in that letter to me, "Dad, I have lived more in this twenty some years than most men have in their lifetime." GSgt Robert continued by saying, "Dad, you gave me the desire and strength to do what I wanted to do and I did."
I told the Chaplin, "The loss of my son would devastate me and break my heart, but it won't break my will and desire to live." So with that note Chaplin, I'm off to pack, get showered and be by my son's side by Oh Nine Hundred, Sharp! They really love that shit down here!
It has been overwhelming the support that this United States Marine Corps has afforded my family. One of the liaisons stated, "You gave your son to us now we need to give back to you." Damn, that is a powerful statement from them!
As I stated that the C-17 is to be 'wheels up' at Thirteen Hundred, Sharp (they REALLY love saying that shit!). They never mentioned however, that the C-17 should be going, ohh I don't know, like one hundred and seventy miles per hour when it is 'wheels up', but I'm really hoping they just forgot that specific part!!
Thank you for all your prayers, may God be with my GSgt Robert and all of you this day
Prayers continuing...
Still praying for GSergent Robert Gilbert and his family.

Our women’s prayer group, prayed for the Sgt. Thursday morning. I will continue to pray for him. God’s healing and peace, to him and his family
Prayers and thanks for the update.
I had Robb lifted up in prayer at church this morning.
Having lost 2 sons of my own 1 at 33 days and 1 to a sociopathic killer when he was 16, I can put myself in Robb’s dad’s shoes.
Father LORD we lift Robb up to You for the healing touch of Your hand, speak but the word and he will be healed. In the name of our Savior, Your Son, Jesus Christ, amen.
Prayers lifted, and a Canteen and Prayer Warriors PING!
Prayers up for the whole family!
Yes. Prayers lifted.
Ms B. Friday night, while listening to the shortwave radio I heared a Naval officer in SC who had transitioned back from Iraq via Maine.
He was so grateful for the kindness of the folks in Maine he went back up there on vacation for his first time.
Just thought I would let you know. You folks ARE making a difference.
Prayers going up!
Godspeed to this young man and his loving family.
