Fans Speak Out and Voice Their Displeasure with Superstar's Concert in Australia
'Disappointed' and 'disgraceful' were perhaps some of the gentler terms used by concert-goers in Brisbane to describe a recent show by the legendary and often highly-acclaimed singer, Whitney Houston.
"It's the worst concert Ive ever been to in my life," said one audience member while standing in the parking lot of the Australian arena during Houstons set.
In fact, some viewers were so displeased by what they saw and did not even stay for the entire show. Many left midway through the concert and expressed their severe dissatisfaction with the pop diva, who regardless still stands as one of the highest-selling recording artists of all time.
"Definitely not worth the $165 [for a ticket]," one fan lamented. Another fan in the arena parking lot was even harsher towards Houston's singing skills and overall ability to keep the audience engaged, flatly stating, "[Houston] couldn't entertain a dead rat to be honest."
While her singing may come into question by fans Down Under, perhaps the most amount of surprise surrounds the harsh reaction of this concert in contrast with the prior amount of accolades Houston has received throughout her long-spanning career.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug....”Rick James”
That’s what she said!
Tragic what has happened to her. She was one of the best singers of all time. Getting mixed up with that jerk Bobby Brown was the beginning of the end.

LOL!
Why would this guy pay $165 to go see a drug addicted, has been?
A fool and his money are soon enough parted.
I hope she retires and lives on a quiet estate in peace. Long ago, she was incredible.
Interesting, just saw the Enquirer in the grocery store and they said she is back on the cocaine and it’s killing her. She looked fat to me in the video shots, but she also acted stoned.
Many years ago.... just before the start of her decline, Mr G worked with her. He said she was one of the sweetest, most beautiful women he had ever worked with. It is a shame what she has done to herself.
I also read somewhere that she was really pissed at the airport (Australia) because her limo was 2 minutes late. Evidently, she threw a temper-tantrum.
Great song.
My wife dragged me to Celine Dion in Vegas (that was the sole purpose of the trip) a week before her 5-year stint ended.
I have to say, I was glad to pay what we did to attend her concert; it made me a fan. Few musicians are worth seeing live because they don’t sound the same. Celine Dion and Alison Krause (band included) sound just as awesome live as on their recordings. Brad Paisley is another. His singing isn’t as good live, but he is a very underrated guitarist.
Brad Paisley and Kieth Urban.
I know Keith is a great guitarist too, but I find it a shame that he hides it in most of his (touchy-feely girl) music. I guess the wife will eventually coerce me to one of his concerts. I’d hope he plays hot licks live.
Keith Urban is great live.
Love, love, love Keith Urban. I think he’s one of country music’s best.
Bump. Very sad indeed.
It seems cocaine is "All The Man That" she needs...
I’d guess vocal cords can only handle so much exposure to cocaine before suffering permanent damage. If it bores a hole between your nostrils, it can’t do the pipes much good.
Could even be related to nerves. I suspect she’s scared to death on stage now after the long absence and harsh criticism she’s been receiving since. You need to be relaxed and confident to perform really well. She always did strike me as an introvert despite her many years on stage.
Her singing once seemed so effortless. All that talent, all that beauty, “Auntie Ree,” fame at 18.
