No reason to lie about our local ski conditions.
Tahoe has been getting pounded with snow for weeks already.

The places near me have snowmakers. So they exaggerate? ;-)

God Bless Orville and Izzy ... their dream transformed an entire recreation industry!

No. Small places in north NJ. Actually I think they’re beautiful all lit up with the snowmakers going. It’s quite a sight.

I think theyre beautiful all lit up with the snowmakers going. Its quite a sight Agreed. Many a time I'd be in the base hotel, looking up at the magnificent mountain at night out the window, watching as the SnowCats and SnowMakers did their thing in preparation for the next morning ... tiny little lights and puffs of powder way up there on the mountain doing their thing ... it really *is* a kinda beautiful sight :)

I just had an idea. IF algore is right, and glaciers are shrinking, then why don’t we build a million huge snow makers?

As a former Groomer I also have to agree. It's the best ski bum job you can get. Work 1/2 the night operating a finely-tuned, 1/4 million dollar machine, know where all the best powder stashes and freshly groomed corduroy are, get up early (or stay up) and poach the good stashes all morning before the pedestrians can find them, go back to bed until evening, then eat and repeat.
Oh, to be young again.....

Makes me think of that old joke about women not being able to tell six inches because men lie to them about it so often.
Works for snow, too. ;-P

Been there, done that ... plenty of times on those little icehills wondering if my giant slalom turns into a gigantic skidding slalom right into a damn tree! /laughs
But what the heck, the resorts themselves are OK ... Shawnee, Camelback, and that other one up in Wilkes Barre (forgot the name) ... they're OK ... just don't go onto their slopes, especially at night, that is all ... /laughs
