Texas Tech has released a signed, sworn affidavit from an athletic trainer who says former coach Mike Leach instructed him to "lock" receiver Adam James in a dark place and that he disagreed with Leach's treatment of James after the player was diagnosed with a concussion.

When a man agrees to play college football he has to be a tough mf(excuse my language). Wimps like this with his father coming to his defense is just pathetic. I’m sure my son will go through much worse next year when he pledges a frat at the University of Alabama.
Yes. We should put all student/athletes with concussions into full-contact drills to man 'em up.
Don't the recently released affidavits contradict earlier comments by the trainer and team doc?
Some signs at the game you won’t see on ESPN:
“The James Family: Ruining College Football Since 1983”
Leach ticked off too many Sand Aggies and their Fat Girlfriends.
What team, in their right mind, would bring this kid on now? Sounds like the Father was a coach’s nightmare. Years ago, my Father, a sportswriter, helped a kid from my hometown be recruited by the Chicago White Sox. He never made it through the Minors. Apparently, the Father was such a meddling Dad and he made life miserable for the management. At the first opportunity, the let him go. The kid was good, but it just wasn’t worth the aggravation.
Sounds like Craig James just curtailed his son’s career.
I may be wrong about this, but I thought Craig James’ NFL career was cut short in the late 1980s due to recurring post-concussion effects.
I wonder if they'll carry the lawsuit trial on ESPN or Tru TV?
I also read that Adam James is going to try and transfer to SMU, his dad's ol' alma mater. People say that June Jones doesn't need that drama and will block his attempt. However, some believe that the power of Texas will somehow force him into accepting him.
When it's all done only the lawyers will win anything out of this. Oh and, Leach will pocket several million dollars too.
I don’t know why everybody’s behind Leach on here.
It doesn’t matter how much of a whiny little twit Adam James is, it doesn’t matter who his dad is or what skullduggery he’s been involved in.
In the end, if the coach took a guy with a concussion who the team doctor said couldn’t play or practice and locked him in a closet/shed/whatever-you-want-to-call-it like an animal or so much old equipment, as is alleged, then the coach is an idiot and it is entirely just that he is now out of a job. You don’t take chances with concussions and you don’t do anything that endangers your job by leaving you open to these kinds of allegations. If you do, you’re an idiot. Period.
As for whose side the Texas Tech fans are on: first of all, who cares? Second, of course they’re on the coach’s side. He was a winner. As long as he was winning games, he could have flogged a player with a cat-o-nine-tails and there would still be fans on his side.
Yes, they have been nauseatingly biased against Leach tonight. They have often seemed too busy disparaging him to bother calling the game. When some of the big plays have been made, they’ve seemed almost annoyed to have to stop talking about Leach and actually cover the events on the field. As quickly as they could, they’ve gone back to talking about Coach Leach.
If I weren’t so disgusted I’d be embarrassed for the announcers, Bob Davie and Mike Patrick.
After James had graduated? Did he ever suffer consequences of his actions?
Their bias was so obnoxious and inappropriate that I could not enjoy the game. The fact that they stated this win will be good for Adam James says it all.
Oh gross, I did not even hear them say that. I guess I tried to tune them out as much as possible. You are absolutely right that it was obnoxious and inappropriate!
What chance did Leach take with James’ health? He did nothing to endanger his health, instead he hurt his feelings.
It is strange that the comments in the affidavits differ from the earlier statements. I wonder if someone else is trying to keep their job?
