short MMA career with that dork-like punching ability

This isn't your mother's gentlemen's style boxing, those punches are just warm ups to what happens on the mat after they leave their feet.....

He wouldn’t beat a 3rd rate amateur in a boxing match,

Nor could he beat Michael Phelps in a swim race even if given a 50 meter lead.....

Point being, he's not a boxer nor is he a swimmer.....

I was responding to LibWhacker who said he’d love to see him fight Klitschko, your analogies are better to be pinged to LibWhacker, not me.

A good punch comes from the toes on up, and has the force of the entire body.

Correct, Mr Rogers.

A good punch begins at the floor (or whatever the surface may be), and the hips generate more of the punching power than do the chest and the arms. Of course there is a lot to be said for strength and mass though, a guy who is as big as an ox, regardless of his fundamentals, can kill a man with one punch.

“He began 1919 winning five bouts in a row by knockout in the first round. Then on July 4, he and world heavyweight champion Jess Willard met at Toledo, Ohio, for the world title. Few gave Dempsey a chance against the larger champion and many called this fight a modern David and Goliath. Minutes before the fight started, Kearns informed Dempsey that he had wagered Dempsey’s share of the purse on Dempsey winning with a first-round knockout. As a result, the first round of the fight was one of the most brutal in boxing history. Dempsey dealt Willard a terrible beating and knocked him down seven times in the first round. Willard had a broken cheekbone, broken jaw, several teeth knocked out, partial hearing loss in one ear, and broken ribs...”

“I was afraid he was going to kill me. I wasn’t just fighting for the championship. I was fighting for my life.”
— Jack Dempsey on Jess Willard

“Honey, I just forgot to duck.”
— Dempsey to his wife Estelle after losing his World Heavyweight title in 1926.

“All the time he’s boxing, he’s thinking. All the time he was thinking, I was hitting him.” and “”A champion is someone who gets up when he can’t.”

Yeah. He beat a boxer, and not one of the best, either. He’s breathing 2 1/2 times as fast at the end as the guy he beat. His kicks aren’t even at knee level, and his first punches were side saddle.

I doubt he could last 3 rounds with Fedor, let alone beat him. Actually, my 285 lb SIL would kick his azz all over the Kroger. LOL

Another Kimbo.

I’d say he’s breathing harder because he did more work in those few seconds. His kicks hit right where he wanted them to. I also doubt he could beat Fedor, since this was his first MMA fight. And Kimbo won his last fight.
