I don’t know about total applicants, but USC has 33,408 students and ND has 10,800, so when you start comparing averages to things like SAT scores USC has pretty impressive academic numbers vis-a-vis Notre Dame; there is not this imagined overwhelming disparity.

Actually, my point is that data is irrelevant.
What is valid in this discussion is SAT and HS GPA of football athletes.
I can assure you that ND’s is much more stringent.
