Tiger: I Need a 'Kobe Special'

Posted Nov 29th 2009 12:15AM by TMZ Staff

Tiger Woods had a "Kobe Special" on his brain hours after what looks like a domestic dispute with his wife, Elin Nordegren -- this according to someone who spoke with Tiger on Friday.

During the phone conversation on Friday, Tiger told his friend, "I have to run to Zales to get a 'Kobe Special.'" The person on the other end of the phone asked Tiger what a "Kobe Special" was. The reply -- "A house on a finger."

During the conversation, Tiger said his wife had "gone ghetto" on him.

As we first reported, Tiger told the friend his wife had scratched his face up during an argument over a report that the golf great had cheated on her. The "other woman" named in the story -- Rachel Uchitel -- calls the report "bulls**t."

Of course, the Kobe reference is the now-famous house/ring he gave his wife Vanessa after the whole Colorado thing. We're assuming Tiger was joking, though he can certainly afford it.

Even mainstream sports websites are now reporting on the alleged affair. And last night Fox News had on someone from TMZ and the Enquirer, both of whom stand by their stories and didn't seem to be worried one bit that they were in any legal trouble.

http://msn.foxsports.com/golf/story/10444906/20-questions-about-Tiger-Woods'-accident

Five days in the somehow-intertwined lives of Tiger Woods, his wife Elin Nordegren and Woods' alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel have left me with more questions than answers. Twenty, actually.

1. Tiger's official Web site characterized the incident as a "minor car accident," yet his wife told police she needed to smash out the back window of his 2009 Escalade in order to rescue him. Does that sound like a "minor car accident"?

2. Why did the Florida Highway Patrol wait 11 1/2 hours to report anything about the incident to the public? The report came, perhaps not coincidentally, after Woods had received treatment and exited an Orlando hospital.

3. If the National Enquirer story of Woods' alleged affair with Rachel Uchitel is untrue, which Uchitel maintains, why did TMZ.com report that Woods' wife scratched his face and smashed his SUV in an apparent fit of rage over the Enquirer's report?

4. Why are Woods and Nordegren stll refusing to formally talk to police about the accident? If you know you've been truthful with the police and have nothing to hide, why wait?

5. The National Enquirer story about Woods' alleged affair hit news stands earlier this week. Why didn't Woods and/or his legal team issue a formal denial of the affair, especially now in light of Uchitel threatening to launch her own defamation lawsuit against the Enquirer.

6. The Enquirer reported that an unnamed attorney for Woods "vehemently denied the affair" between Woods and Uchitel. If the attorney felt so strongly about Woods being falsely accused, why didn't he attach his name to the denial?

7. If Uchitel does file a defamation lawsuit against the Enquirer, is that a good or bad thing for Woods?

8. Does Uchitel's strong denial of the affair make the public more likely to believe that nothing between her and Woods took place?

9. With Florida law enforcement officials telling TMZ.com that there was a "domestic issue" between Woods and Nordegren, why has the Florida Highway Patrol since announced that it is not investigating the incident as a domestic disturbance of any kind?

10. If Woods, as TMZ.com reports, was taking prescription pain medication that caused him to appear "somewhat out of it" to police at the crash scene, could he still face DUI charges? The Florida Highway Patrol has indicated there was no alcohol involved in the accident.

11. Where was Woods going at 2:30 a.m.?

12. Woods' 2009 Cadillac Escalade ran over a fire hydrant and smashed into a tree, and Nordegren claims she broke out the back window of the vehicle with a golf club. With the kind of noise the mishap generated, how could there be no witnesses?

13. Why was New York City resident Uchitel seen checking in to the same hotel as Woods in Melbourne the week of the Australian Masters?

14. Why would Ashley Samson, who the Enquirer called Uchitel's "friend," go on the record in detailing an affair between Woods and Uchitel? If Samson was lying, wouldn't she face legal action from Woods — along with public embarrassment?

15. Uchitel said she's never had a relationship with Woods, but confirmed that she's met him twice. So it's complete coincidence that she's met Woods on more than one occasion — and was later spotted checking into his hotel halfway 'round the world in Australia?

16. Woods' first scheduled press conference for his personal golf tournament outside of Los Angeles next week is Tuesday. Will he show?

17. What can Woods say now that will satisfy his endorsement partners going forward? Hundreds of millions of dollars hang in the balance.

18. If Woods' injuries do not look consistent with his vehicular mishap, will police consider charging his wife with domestic abuse?

19. Since Woods and Nordegren may not speak publicly before the 911 call is released Sunday, does that indicate they are confident the call contains no information contrary to their version of events that night?

20. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?

Let me offer some theoretical answers to these questions, since someone made so much effort to formulate them, and I have nothing better to do at the moment:

1. Does that sound like a "minor car accident"? - perhaps, or perhaps not. Tiger was not seriously wounded, but his car was somewhat banged up.

2. Why did the Florida Highway Patrol wait 11 1/2 hours to report anything about the incident to the public? - They are not a newspaper, and they are not under obligation to publish anything.

3. why did TMZ.com report that Woods' wife scratched his face and smashed his SUV in an apparent fit of rage over the Enquirer's report? - that would be not the first ever case of a spouse being upset by something that is untrue.

4. Why are Woods and Nordegren stll refusing to formally talk to police about the accident? - because they are smart, that's why. Good for them. Talking to the police can only result in someone being arrested, and as a guess that would be bad for the marriage.

5. Why didn't Woods and/or his legal team issue a formal denial of the affair - sometimes denials do just the opposite.

6. If the attorney felt so strongly about Woods being falsely accused, why didn't he attach his name to the denial? - he hasn't received his check yet, probably.

7. If Uchitel does file a defamation lawsuit against the Enquirer, is that a good or bad thing for Woods? - neither, on the "good" side. He is not a party to that lawsuit.

8. Does Uchitel's strong denial of the affair make the public more likely to believe that nothing between her and Woods took place? - certainly, compared to full confession and videotapes. Why to even ask?

9. why has the Florida Highway Patrol since announced that it is not investigating the incident as a domestic disturbance of any kind? - they can look at several aspects of the case, starting from the car accident. They don't have to attach labels, their work is not affected. In fact, they would like to investigate in peace, instead of feeding rumors.

10. could he still face DUI charges? - likely not, even if he was DUI, if his use of car was necessary to save his life. I can't imagine a jury convicting anyone of DUI if they just drive a block or two to escape death.

11. Where was Woods going at 2:30 a.m.? - to 7-11, they are open 24/7.

12. With the kind of noise the mishap generated, how could there be no witnesses? - at 2:30am? Maybe, you know, everyone was sound asleep?

13. Why was New York City resident Uchitel seen checking in to the same hotel as Woods in Melbourne the week of the Australian Masters? - a good hotel, perhaps?

14. Why would Ashley Samson, who the Enquirer called Uchitel's "friend," go on the record in detailing an affair between Woods and Uchitel? - fishing for some money from a rich sportsman? That is hardly unique.

15. Uchitel said she's never had a relationship with Woods, but confirmed that she's met him twice. So it's complete coincidence that she's met Woods on more than one occasion? - she may have been following him, but that doesn't mean that he was following her or even knowing her. Anyone can follow Tiger and live in the same hotel, he can't control that.

16. Woods' first scheduled press conference for his personal golf tournament outside of Los Angeles next week is Tuesday. Will he show? - doesn't it depend on his recovery by that day?

17. What can Woods say now that will satisfy his endorsement partners going forward? - "Well, guys, you were clamoring for a controversy around me, so here you are. It will cost you a bit more, of course, now that my name is again in all news."

18. If Woods' injuries do not look consistent with his vehicular mishap, will police consider charging his wife with domestic abuse? - they might, if they have enough evidence. However with everyone being mum on the subject they won't get far.

19. Since Woods and Nordegren may not speak publicly before the 911 call is released Sunday, does that indicate they are confident the call contains no information contrary to their version of events that night? - the "may" never "does" anything.

20. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS? - no need to believe or disbelieve, especially when lacking essential facts.

" Tiger said his wife had "gone ghetto" on him. "

First mental images just in of how Elin's response might read:

A. You want some Ghetto? I'll show you Ghetto, ******!

B. You ain't seen ghetto, ******, but I'll show you what ghetto is all about!

C. You didn't! Oh don't tell me you didn't call me ghetto, ******, (see A or B)

D. All of the above.

Psst, hey Tiger, don't talk to anybody in any derogatory fashion about your wife, when it appears you are guilty of infidelity. You were in a higher league than Kobe, but it seems you are hangin' with the wrong crowd and its rubbing off on you.

My only real question about this is, "Did Tiger really do all of this to himself, or has somebody targeted him for toppling in the public arena?"

proof once again that no matter how much money one has , there is no substitute for for leading a mindful , conscious , moral lifestyle . God sees everything and ultimately we have to pay the cost for our sins ,even those committed on the sly . Truth is like air bubbles in water , they eventually find the surface .

I suspect that is why his little Norwegian sweety went Viking on him...she thought the wrong crowd had been rubbing off on him. ;-)

“Gone ghetto”?!

Isn’t that racist??

And sexist as well??

(And what the hell would Tiger Woods ever know about a “ghetto”?)

Can’t wait for the feminist lobby to address this one.

Just listen/read any black sistah blog and it appears to be a common observation amongst black women looking for men.

(I remember reading one, where the observation was she would not believe bad anything about Tiger Woods or any black athlete, except that they wouldn’t ever date, let alone marry a black woman, so that’s why she believed the reports of his infidelity.)

Markos33,
only way I have ever been able to get mine quiet was when she had 4 wisdom teeth yanked several years ago.
Lasted all of two days then back to normal.
I still remember those two days fondly.
