Thanks!
A mixture of Whiskey, lemon juice, honey will probably work just as well.
Good Darn Question! I thought it was - before hearing about it this year. I knew it existed I just never looked into it or needed it and assumed it was an OT drug.
>> why is Tamiflu not sold over-the-counter? <<
Mainly because organized medicine always wants to stifle competition.
But as with antibiotics, there’s also a valid scientfic reason:
Over-the-counter availability could lead to widespread “underdosing” — which in turn might help create strains of resistant flu viruses.
Tamiflu is not without side effects.
Besides, people who get antibiotics that are PRESCRIBED many times don’t take them correctly. If Tamiflu went OTC, it will take an even shorter time for the flu viruses to become resistant....
In young people especially, it can have serious side effects including temporary psychosis. The Japanese had many instances of that during the (early part of the) bird flu scare.
Likely $$$$$$$
And less control over the people.
$92.99 as of Oct 30, 2009 Tamiflu
That’s why.
Some claim it is the side-effects etc., but all drugs have side-effects. Some claim decreasing effectiveness against viruses, again even antibiotics develop this.
The reality is...look at what is available OTC, it is symptom relief, no cures are out there in aisle to be picked up by the average citizen for anything!
